The House Foreign Affairs Committee by a vote of 27-21 has condemned the Ottoman Turks for the killing of 1.5 million Armenians around World War 1 and rightfully called it a genocide.
Turkey's politicians are furious...they've always denied the charge of intentional genocide and blame the slaughter on a Civil War. The timing of something good, couldn't be worse; the WH, the Pentagon, Military leaders..all want the resolution squashed before it heads to the full House for a very public vote...but Democrats, led by Brad Sherman of CA, so far refuse to back down.
Turkey's Prime Minister has threatened to end the American military's use of roadways from his country into Iraq; more than 1/3rd of the fuel for the troops in Iraq is delivered through this key supply route. Turkey's government withdrew it's Ambassador to DC..a sign of how serious our Islamic NATO ally is about covering up this atrocity.
Lately Islamic traditionalists have been causing trouble for the folks who've embraced western style modernity and want to be part of the EU. There's been demonstrations over the Danish Cartoons and the Pope's call for moderation, ironically resulting in riots. Turkey's military is agressively guarding the border between Turkey and Iraq from the Kurds...another nationality that Turkey would like to see erased.
Turkey has never supported the US in any Wars in Europe...they're at best a troubled democracy that could very easily side with the Middle East in hopes of reviving the greatness of days gone by...Oh well, as far as the vote on Armenian genocide...maybe it'll be enough that our Congress called the savage murders of so many what it is...a genocide; but, for now, quiet the controversy while the US Military is fighting in Iraq?

Just when you hope you've heard the last of OJ Simpson, he steals the headlines and provides us with reems of toilet paper and 24 hour boobtube coverage for the "great unwashed." The bathroom tome consists of daily stories about an armed robbery by a sinister posse led by the slasher himself. The Juice calls the raid a "swat sting" to liberate his sports memorabilia. Las Vegas prosecutors hit OJ and his three pals with 10 felony counts for the hotel stickup, including assault and kidnapping. He sat in jail for 3 days and today made a deal and is..at large. Home to Florida.

On Friday, Mychal Bell 16, charged with attempted murder, unable to pay $90,000 bail, jailed since January...lucked out when the spineless state Appeals Court threw out his conviction of aggravated battery because he was tried as an adult. The promised arrival of thousands of demonstrators to this rural town is unnerving locals who fear the protest will spark chaos and the destruction of property; not to mention the march of thousands of outsiders outrageously honoring the 6 violent, lawbreaking thugs might encourage random beatings of other white residents of Jena.

The bizarre incident, I'm sure, woke the crowd dazed into a fishy eyed spell by Kerry's monotone oratory (Kerry, cluelessly just kept talking and talking through it all); however, Meyer represents the pseudo-journalist/bloggers who use techno-gadgets to "make the news" instead of reporting it.

A scuffle ensued, Meyer was tased and removed. Later it was discovered that Meyers had manipulated the whole thing. He had handed his video-phone to another student and instructed her to film what was about to happen for his blog, UTube and the mindless Media, who surely would welcome this dodo as relief from the serious, complicated, real news topics like, the Presidential Primary or the War in Iraq.
But I digress..Alas, too many news fabricators like Meyers are in the pipeline...Is this what we have to look forward to...lame brain reporters who make up the news because reality is too hard? Are we approaching the end of the line for informed, honest journalists that do the research and present each and every facet of the story in historical context so we know the truth and get the complete picture?

IRAN Nukes
Arabs signal Not In My Backyard
Last weekend a summit was called by the leaders of the Gulf States to establish a common ARAB position about Iran's controversial nuclear program. Ofcourse the resulting communique was not free of the double talk usually associated with Arab speak; however, it did affirm Arab concerns about the Iranian program on grounds of both safety and security.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) comprised of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Oman expressed anxiety that Americans who worry about possible retaliation by the Arab States in the event of air strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities, should consider.
Except for Saudi Arabia, the GCC States are located on the coastline just opposite Iran's nuclear power station on the Bushehr Peninsula which is part of the most active earthquake zone on earth; AND, Iran plans to build at least seven more such plants in the next decade. The Arabs asked Tehran about the disposal of nuclear waste and the water that is used for cooling..Iran shrugged it off. Tehran also declined to permit the GCC to visit the sites, to interview scientists and to commission appropriate safety tests.
The USA is presently involved in the endless and non-productive diplomacy track which will end like all international intitiatives..hamstrung at the UN. Perhaps, the Arab States, knowing full well the dangers that THEY face if Iran succeeds in developing Nuclear Weapons are better allies against Iran's power grab than those further away from the epicenter?

United 93:Roll it?

Last night A&E TV aired the film about hijacked United Flight 93 that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Much ado was made of the timing of the release...too soon, too painful, opens old wounds? All of that is soooo true, but memories are fading for Americans not directly affected by the horrible carnage we on the East Coast experienced that clear, beautiful day in September 2001.
It's time to refresh memories...time to forcefully defend ourselves against the barbarians still at large and lethal. Unite and support our President's sincere efforts to prevent more American deaths at the hands of ruthless Jihadis.
As to the film, all victims' families approved of Paul Greengrass's sensitive portrayal in real time(90min) of the 40 brave souls who stormed the cockpit and gave their lives so that others would live...Live to avenge their sacrifice.......this film is a must see for those that oppose our aggressive offensive against Al Qaeda and radical Islam. Many have come to believe that if we just leave them alone (like wasps) they won't bother us...watch this film and judge for yourself the accuracy of that naive conclusion...It's hard to watch, but film should be an important part of the dialogue...United93 is the first in 5 years...now that the ice is broken, expect to see Hollywood jump into the mix with a blockbuster about 9/ll.

Fox News contributor, journalist and radio talk show host, Tony Snow, will replace Scott McClellan as WH Press Secretary next week.
Since Tony Snow is recovering from Colon Cancer he had to delay acceptance of the President's offer until he received a go ahead from his doctors. This job is tiring for a well man..I wonder if Tony will be able to keep up with the tirade of hard questions hurled at the poor guy at the podium...EVERY day?
Tony Snow is familar with all the Press critters and they with him. Already the Lefties have circulated an email containing Snow's negative remarks about the President: "...he's become somewhat of an embarrassment"..and more of Snow's popular rants.
Snow has a special relationship with the President since he was a speech writer for his father. Supposedly he'll be in the loop and will be able to offer advice as to the presentation of Administration events and policy to the Public. Perhaps he might even insist that the Press use some ink on such matters as: Mary McCarthy's leak of classified information about foreign prisons, obviously harmful to National Security and her dismissal for breaking her pledge of secrecy with the CIA? Perhaps he might even discuss whether it's beneficial to National Security if a "shadow CIA" that leaks at the pleasure of the Democratic Party is helpful to our success with the War on Terror? NSA surveillance too. Geeeze, it's outrageous that Dana Priest got a Pulitzer instead of jail time and Mary McCarthy is regarded as a heroic whistleblower by the Left Wing mob?

Have you heard this tid bit of presumptuous, premateur lameduckery trumpeted by the MSM & Cable's talking heads? President Bush's polls are low as they go and the Democratic Party's tirade of relentless scandal mongering has taken a cumulative toll on every policy initiative sponsored by the Administration this year.
The Dubai Ports Deal...No veto, No deal?
A 6.8 billion dollar deal was approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment transferring the management of six crucial US Ports from Britain to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). When the particulars were noticed by Congress, the Press and the People, the security angle created a fire storm and arguably, xenophobic hyperbole..public fear of Arabs.
President Bush threatened to use his veto power to secure the deal, but opposition grew partisan and hysterical. President Bush was caught off guard by the turmoil: "I want those who are questionng it to step up and explain why, all of a sudden, a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard than a Great Britain company...the company will not manage port security. The security of our ports will continue to be managed by the Coast Guard and Customs..they ought to listen to what I have to say about this." But THEY didn't and Dubai Ports is looking for an acceptable proxy.
Ugh? The Administration has taken steps to rev-up the public's awarness of the real threats by Islamic terrorists lest we all become dangerously complacent the further we get away from 9/ll...Considering the fate of the Dubai Deal, perhaps the fear mongering has worked too well?

Atlast Immigration Reform is on the table, sorta? With the emotional opponents of illegal Mexican immigration, mostly people and elected officials in the SW part of the USA, forming militias and building Israeli type Walls to block the constant flow of illegals across our Southern Border, it's no surprise that Congress was forced to act. They tried..but the partisan game play, encouraged by hundreds of thousands of Hispanics demonstrating in the streets in an election year was too much for the self-serving incumbents to rise above.
The Sensenbrenner House Bill was all about Border security and eliminating the "mystery count," the 12 million or so that are here enjoying the blessings of a self-acquired AMNESTY. Hillary Clinton, the most likely nominee for President in 08, compared the House Bill to the scriptures: "Even the Good Samaritan" would be a felon."
In the deliberative body, Arlen Spector managed to push a Senate Judiciary Committee Bill to the floor which included a guest worker program. When it hit the Senate floor for debate, the cries of AMNESTY regarding another workers program without enforcing and reforming conditions on the Southern Border *FIRST...resulted in a contentious stalemate. Congress critters went home for Easter...which may be the best thing..stay home until November for all I care? Afterall it appears that no sensible, productive lawmaking is possible in an election year.
I'm very disappointed that Republicans in Congress are abandoning R-President..they'll rue the day that they turned their backs on the CIC in time of War. It's understandable that the deluded opposition Party blames Bush for EVERYTHING, but for R-own incumbents NOT to defend and praise the achievements of their President, the head of R-Party who has increased R-majority in every election cycle since his in 2000, is baaad for the Country, our Military fighting in Iraq, the WOT & the public confidence in the majority Administration and more importantly (to them)..their re-election bids.

State of U...Let 2006 Midterms begin!!

The speech was more of a "state of the Presidency" than of the nation. President Bush is up-beat and confident; steadfast with Iraq and determined to prevent BinLaden et al from attacking Americans on our soil ever again.
The speech was structured to show that Dems have no positive message of their own:
On the War in Iraq the yo-yos had no choice but to rise in support of our troops, although they were mute and paralyzed for all other references to events in Iraq. After detailing the progress in Iraq to Republican cheers only, Bush threw out a line about the sacrifices the troops are making for this Country, and that brought the Dems dutifully to their feet. He pried them loose one more time: "Congress did not act last year on my proposal to save Social Security."..His mention of his failed effort, prompted the Dems to a gleefull standing ovation. Imagine that?..they applauded themselves for defeating an initiative geared to protect the retirement income of Seniors and left the imminent problem unsolved; thereby, confirming for all to see, that opposing everything, regardless of the benefit to Americans, while DOING NOTHING, is all anyone can expect from Democrats.
Bush hit the mandadtory & forgettable laundry list:
Education..70,000 new teachers.
Health Care..electronic records to control costs and reduce medical errors.
Taxes..make them permanent and reduce entitlements by 14 Billion.
Energy...we're "addicted to oil"...gets the nod for sound bite of the night.

Alito Battle Cry

Poor Martha-Ann Alito cracked under the onslaught of vicious smears and insideous innuendo hurled at her humble and honorable husband by the dumber than dirt Democrats on the Judicial Committee. After thousands of their words and hours of demeaning stage play by Democratic hatchet men, Kennedy, Schumer and the mouth, Biden; (although handled patiently, calmly and professionally by Judge Alito)..Mrs.Alito's lips quivered and she broke down in tears of disappointment & sympathy over the relentless, undeserving attacks on her husband's character and remarkable life achievements.
Alito's endurance and knowledge of the law frustrated the pathetic dimwits who failed to pierce the nominees armor..They failed miserably to depict him as a radical extremist that would overturn Roe, set race relations and women's rights back to the 60s, be a rubber stamp for WH power. IOW, a jurist with a RightWing agenda. Oh my, the Dems were drooling over this election year scandal and now that the lobbyist extrodinaire, Jack Abramoff, has copped a plea, one would think they'd be clucking like chickens on speed; but nooooo, it's way too quiet in the DC roost. Why? Could it be that this scandal is too complex for the media dimwits to get? OR perhaps a few no-note-democrats are pigeons in the coop of corruption too? For forty years they were the recipents of all the gifts from lobbyists on K Street; but alas, without power no decent lobbyist would give two cents to the minority..they've gotta miss the attention?
Cspan is doing a comprehensive report explaining the whole dirty business..first part aired last night, second tonight..review it on their website, because it's not your usual FBI scam. You know...tapes of Marion Barry smoking crack, passing the envelope to undercover agents dressed as thee MAN? If Congressmen are to be indicted, Justice will have to show a quid pro quo..bribery is very difficult to prove. If access is all the tribes got, that's legal. At the present time, only a few DC critters are losing sleep; to name a few..Charles Rangel D-NY, Robert Ney R-Ohio; the really juicy pubbies like DeLay, Rove, Frist..have all issued denials and reluctantly returned thousands in campaign bucks tainted by the corrupt lobbyist gone native.
If the Bush Administration was even a little to blame instead of leading the prosecution team, it would be the Little Big Horn all over again..instead the implications of this indictment will take time to sink in. Jack Abramoff pled guilty to Conspiracy, Mail Fraud and Tax evasion. If he gets the max he could do 30 years; plus he's agreed to pay 25 million in restitution to his victims and l.7 million for back taxes..The pampered Congressmen may turn out to be guilty of Golf trips to Scotland...the perks went to their heads, but is it a crime?

He advised the Chiefs that he would be using the money to gain them access and influence with lawmakers; but he told them he couldn't do it alone..the tribes had to donate wampum to Republican campaigns. He used his buddy Scanlon's businesses as fronts to pit the Casino Tribes against each other. Let's be clear, we're not talking about poor Native Americans on the Reservations, it's millionaire Casino Chiefs that hired the guy so they could continue raking in the chips and expand their business ventures. NONE of the profits were earmarked for their own poor people..Casinos provide 500,000 jobs nationwide and employ atleast 2/3rds from Indian populations..business is business...they want tax shelters NOT Totems and Tepees for the underpriviledged on the reservations. Since when are TRAITORS WHISTLEBLOWERS?

The New York Times and loose lipped reporters will rue the day they divulged classified information over the objections of the WH. The NSA requested that the Justice Department investigate yet another shameful and irresponsible leak to journalists regarding the President's top secret surveillance program, designed to identify and locate Al Qaeda cells living in the USA and "connect the dots" this time, hopefully preventing a repeat performance of a horrible attack akin to 9/ll.
THIS LEAKER WILL BE FOUND. Journalists will be interrogated, forced to reveal their sources and jailed for endangering our Country at time of War. SURPRISE!! This is not the result they expected. The Bush haters, the anti-Bush Liberals and the yellow Democrat Party, were quick to accuse the President of breaking the law and abusing THEIR privacy rights. Some ranted about Impeachment; a firestorm of thoughtless criticism was hurled at the Administration...but one thing the Left and the ACLU didn't figure on, since they're soooo out of touch with patriotic, mainstream America and totally devoid of common sense...the PEOPLE agree with the CIC's candid declaration that he did it for their safety..The NSA is not listening to elite academics whine about Clinton's Impeachment appearing in new text books..We're listening to bad guys who want to kill us..and President Bush has used every tool at his disposal to prevent it...AND thank GOD, unapologetically continues to do so. "It's my duty!!"
The ACLU has the gall to refer to a traitorous leaker as a whistleblower..this isn't Plame Gate? Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU bemoaned the turn of the events: "It's pretty stunning (to who?) that rather than focus on whether the president broke his oath of office and broke federal law, they (the Justice Dept.) are going after the whistleblowers." (What a croc..they could be shot for treason.) The Left are in a state of terminal delusion..Do they know we're at war?..the fight of our lives?
Lucy Dalglish, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, said the Plame investigation was about "political gamesmanship." But the NSA leak probe is frightening."
"In this case, there is no question that the public needed to know what the New York Times reported. It's much more a classic whistleblower situation. The public needs to know when the government is engaged in things that may well be unconstitutional."
Besides being ignorant of the case law, she fails to recognize that a lethal enemy DOES NOT need to know..Left Wingers must be stupid or crazy or both..they are dangerous...Don't they care that civilians and reporters have been beheaded in Prime Time? What about their RIGHTS?

THE WHITE HOUSE CAN'T WIN..............

On a day that should have been a great triumph for the WH; the NYTimes led with a story about Bush ordering the NSA to "Spy on American Citizens." The headline alone spews hate and jealousy for all things Bush and dampens any celebration for the Bush Administration over their well deserved achievements yesterday in Iraq.
The vote was a complete success. The insurgents split from the Jihadis and warned them not to attack polling places on Election Day...and they didn't. Zarqawi's days are numbered..once the government is intact and the Iraqi security forces are unleashed, does anyone think they'll tolerate foreign invaders blowing up Iraqi citizens, assassinating police recruits and seizing THEIR Country?
That said, the Sunnis voted in large numbers this time around, signaling their intention to be part of the new government of Iraq. The participation of the Sunnis shows they're ready to trade ballots for bullets and negotiate with the Shiites & Kurds rather than launching a Civil War that will most certainly end in their defeat and marginalization. Now comes the hard part, stitching together a coalition government that will effectively provide Security and the staples of living comfortably for every Iraqi citizen. A tall order..let's hope they can agree and get on with rebuilding their Country.
The vote in Iraq was an inspiring story, but the NYTimes couldn't let the Bush Administration gloat for even one day..they released a story they'd been sitting on since 2001..The usual suspects were outraged..WHY? My initial reaction was: "Pppuh, I'm Shocked?? Ofcourse we spy on terror cells in the USA." If we didn't the cells et als would be at liberty to plot another attack..we picked up Al Qaeda contacts; phone numbers, names and locations in the USA when we invaded Afghanistan and from others detained in the ME. Those connections HAD to be wire tapped and stopped from performing their dasterdly deeds. Our terror task forces have broken up several US based cells and achieved successful prosecutions as a direct result of NSA surveillance.
Did anyone notice that we haven't had another attack in the USA since 9/ll? Other countries have not been so lucky..Spain, Britain, Netherlands, Russia, Egypt, Jordan, Bali..the list goes on.
We must be doing something right..maybe it's spying on the enemy? Bush advised the chairmen of the Intelligence Commitees; he got legal advice from the AG; the Wars Powers Act gives the President the right to defend this Country from an *enemy within* and everywhere on this planet..He would have been irresponsible after 9/ll NOT to do everything within his power to track down embedded Al Qaeda terrorists on our own shores and beyond and prevent them from killing thousands of innocent civilians.
The Democrats care more about demeaning Bush than winning a war, the lives of our troops AND the safety of Americans. They're blatant partisanship in time of WAR is not just stupid, it's dangerous to one and all.

The Democrats ranted and raved about the NY Times expose' during the debate on the Patriot Act which is totally unrelated to this particular National Security directive. UPDATE: Bush didn't waste a minute admitting that he did indeed authorize the NSA to spy on terror suspects in the USA. He said it was all on the up and up and it was his duty to do what was necessary to prevent another surprise attack on our soil. He let the hot air out of the Bush-haters bashing frenzy..the talking heads' jaws dropped at his positive candor. Their coverage went over like the proverbial lead balloon.
He also took the opportunity to slam the NYTimes and other Media for printing classified material that will interfer with the WOT. He also figured out that the timing of this old story was linked with the Democrats attempt to allow the Patriot Act to sunset. After the re-election of President Bush and R-increased majorities in both Houses of Congress, it should have been clear that the only thing that mattered to voters was winning the war in Iraq AND defeating the Islamic terrorists that threatened our way of life. How did Bush and the GOP reward our constituants? By inexplicably launching a campaign to reform Social Security and ignoring the mandate given to the Republican Party by the American people.
This poorly timed and stupid forray into the mined field of Democratic terroritory gave the opposition the opening to make relentless charges that Bush and the Republican Party had misled us into the war in Iraq using trumped up intelligence; thereby purposely linking it to the War on Terror, and doing so, solely for political advantage during the 2004 campaign.
Well, the Democrats hamhandedly, by their obsessive concentration on pre-war matters, culminating in Murtha's proposal to end it all and withdraw before victory, have inadvertantly focused the public's attention on their weakest characteristic, Defense..Winning, finishing a fight, and their tendency to cut and run..leaving thousands of Iraqis to die.
At long last, the balls are back in R-court. President Bush should embrace the Senate proposal to detail the progress and failures in Iraq..do it every month at a televised Joint Session of Congress..speak proudly about our successes and explain our maneuvers to correct failures. Engage the American people, anxious for truth and optimistic determination by our Commander in Chief. Force Democrats to help win the war, or be cast as the incompetent, weak kneed wusses that they are..don't veto the chance to use the megaphone; climb above the pile of Congressional debris and tell the American people that the greatest Military in the World is close to achieving victory.
Despite the fearful whines and doubts oozing from the Democratic Party..."We hear you!!" The Republican Party will never give up..defeat is not a responsible option when the World is depending on us...whether they know it or not, their fate is in R-hands.

This poorly timed and stupid forray into the mined field of Democratic terroritory gave the opposition the opening to make relentless charges that Bush and the Republican Party had misled us into the war in Iraq using trumped up intelligence; thereby purposely linking it to the War on Terror, and doing so, solely for political advantage during the 2004 campaign.
Well, the Democrats hamhandedly, by their obsessive concentration on pre-war matters, culminating in Murtha's proposal to end it all and withdraw before victory, have inadvertantly focused the public's attention on their weakest characteristic, Defense..Winning, finishing a fight, and their tendency to cut and run..leaving thousands of Iraqis to die.
At long last, the balls are back in R-court. President Bush should embrace the Senate proposal to detail the progress and failures in Iraq..do it every month at a televised Joint Session of Congress..speak proudly about our successes and explain our maneuvers to correct failures. Engage the American people, anxious for truth and optimistic determination by our Commander in Chief. Force Democrats to help win the war, or be cast as the incompetent, weak kneed wusses that they are..don't veto the chance to use the megaphone; climb above the pile of Congressional debris and tell the American people that the greatest Military in the World is close to achieving victory.
Despite the fearful whines and doubts oozing from the Democratic Party..."We hear you!!" The Republican Party will never give up..defeat is not a responsible option when the World is depending on us...whether they know it or not, their fate is in R-hands.

I don't recall the formulation of a detailed SS plan during or after the campaign...Did I miss the solution?..all Bush did was say there's a looming problem? As a matter of fact I was stupefied by the futility of the debacle. As far as the judiciary, it's a given that a Republican President should choose nominees that would satisfy the decades old Conservative longing to Right the Court...sadly, the nomination of Harriet Miers made many wonder if Bush grasped the profound implications of nominating an unqualified crony.
Bush was re-elected with the help of the Swift Boaters who served with Kerry in Viet Nam. Vets of That lost War, today's Military and millions of civilians, supported Bush and Republicans to assure that an anti-war quitter like Kerry would never be CIC. For many Americans, the centerpiece of the 2004 campaign was NOT SS, but rather, which candidate would best Defend this Nation and respect and support the men and women in uniform who had been ordered to risk their lives for our safety, the freedom of people in a foreign land and the Bush Administration's complex vision to reform the Middle East...not SS.
Off the high of this moral victory, Bush curbed R-enthusiasm and focused on SS for months and barely mentioned the War in Iraq..not so for Democrats..they realized that Iraq could be GW Bush's Viet Nam, TET Re-loaded with the help of the partisan Press and PR savvy Al Qaeda...Old Liberal hippies could re-run the peace-nik demonstrations of the 60s of which they had misty, water-color memories. Flash back Winter Soldier Kerry testifying about his buddies still in Nam..calling them "baby killers." Unpack the tie-dyes?

BEAU DIED...peacefully sometime last night..he was lying in front of his dog house this morning..stiff as a board..a PUPsicle.
He was a dalmatian, born in 1992. I saved him from the breeder who was going to put him down to protect the purity of the breed. Beau was deaf...not a valid reason to snuff out a cute, little pup like him...even if he was the runt of the litter and not up to Kennel Club standards. The breeder offerred me a replacement but I was already too attached and charmed by his "can do" personality...You see, he learned to read lips...must have?.. because he always did what I expected of him. He was quiet and clean, appreciative of his surroundings and he protected me like no other human ever did..he came into my life when the nest was empty..he filled it with love and loyalty. I'll never get another dog..when you've had the best, no other will do..in my eyes, he was a true blue Champion.

As expected, with the re-do nomination of Judge Samuel Alito(aka:Scalito), GW Bush yielded to the relentless demands of his trusty base while with a single stroke of compliance to Conservative principle, sparked a long awaited confrontation between Right and Left wing ideologues and Party regulars alike..
The defeat of the Miers nomination followed so closely by "Scalito" has united all Republicans against the onslaught of D-criticism that has already begun. Most of it is boiler-plate..practice makes perfect and Republicans have had plenty..we'll bury the hatchet in their backs..we're pumped.
The air is sucked out of the indictment madness and the Miers disappointment..Dems will have to focus on this red meat appointment..they can't do two..maybe three things at once? Delay & Frist..Libby? Polls show know one cares..but the people DO care about the Supreme Court..polls showed during the Miers mistake that the majority prefer a Judge..Federal experience and expertise with Constitutional Law...ergo, for 15 years Judge Alito has sat on the 3rd Circuit, confirmed by unanimous consent of the Senate (two times)...therefore, the insufficient qualifications angle is off the table; Dems in order to oppose him will have to do a 180.
Out of the shoot, (reported by Chris Matthews on HardBall) on the top of D-hit list(talking points) was this meatball...17 years ago, this Italian American prosecutor(Alito) lost a case against a crime family...(later he demolished another crime family but Dems give him no credit for that one.) With 15 years of an extensive judicial paper trail available from the Federal Bench, what nit-wit in Dem Party decided to pick on Italians? This clumsy implication is going to hurt them baaad...Alito hails from New Jersey..the dumping grounds for many a tough guy who will not take this lying down.>>s

Update: Today the Senate was hijacked by Democrats frustrated by the no-Leak Indictment followed by the nomination of a super pro-life Judge and the replacement of the Judge hearing the Delay case.
Their childish plea for attention was a stunt to get press coverage..on that score they were successful..At issue, is their insistance that they were manipulated to go to War on false pretenses..mainly, the intelligence regarding WMDs was not the "slam dunk" that Tenet promised...and tediously, Bush lied.
It didn't take long for Dems to turn on Fitzgerald..they wanted a grand slam and all they got was a "soft ball." Soooo..they will try to link the indictment of Libby to the rehash of Wilson's contention that the administration fooled them...who's fault is that? On the WAR PATH
WAR PROTESTS...gain believable allies
Over the past few weeks critics of the WAR have gained some credibility. Not due to the likes of Cindy Sheehan's hit squad whose "contract" is vacationing at Crawford; but from those reputable conservative journalists who happen to be old enough to remember the lessons learned from the VietNam protests of the late 60s and more importantly, what fueled them.
It was not TET..but how the media reported it and how the President, Democrats & DOD civilians at home gave up on achieving a military Victory in lieu of gaining popular support and keeping their elected positions...military strategy was in a "holding pattern" until the unfortunate withdrawal which left the south Vietnamese to fend for themselves against the communists & cost Cambodia 2 million deaths at the hands of the brutal dictator, Pol Pot.
The overridding perception among these notables is that..like VietNam, our politicians refuse to let our military do whatever it takes to WIN...worse, new presidential advisors seem to be suggesting that we draw down our military presence BEFORE we've achieved our objectives...objectives that "they" surmise are no longer doable. Are they right?
A SHOT AT DEMOCRACY...or something else?
We see the problems the Iraqi Government is having with the Constitution..the Sunnis have been unsuccessful in quelling the terrorism stemming from their B'aathist strongholds. Iraqi insurgents have aligned with foreign jihadies that practice their suicide bombings on innocent Iraqis. A recent study of the nationalities of the bombers indicates that most are from Saudi Arabia (another story). What has to happen for the Iraqi people to maintain ONE nation is for the Insurgents to turn on the Jihadis and expel them violently from THEIR Country. If the Sunni insurgents did that..I'm sure their nationalism would be rewarded by fair inclusion in the NEW Representative Government of Iraq.
Diplomacy and deal making are new to the elected officials..perhaps withholding power from the Sunnis, is a carrot & stick approach that might have some resonance among the Sunnis who will be marginalized for years to come if they allow the terrorism against fellow Iraqis to continue unopposed. Jihadis want to create another Afghanistan in Iraq..an oppressive Taliban type government worse than the secular dictatorship of Saddam Hussein and UNacceptable to ALL the people of Iraq and to the USA.
That said..Unlike his repetitive Churchillian rhetoric denotes..Bush is flexible. Strategy has changed with increased knowledge of the culture and realization that the Insurgency has morphed (unpredicted) into the main front of our WAR against the Islamo-fundamentalist's Jihad led presently by Osama BinLaden and championed, again unpredicted, by most of the Arab Street. It would be foolish to deny that Islamists everywhere long for the prominence, international influence and glory of the Islamic Empire of old.
IMO..Withdrawing from Iraq before the Iraqi government is secure and held legitimate by the Iraqi people, will give credence to the Islamic-power-dream sooner rather than NEVER... It is essential that the President include the American people in the problems he and our Military experts & troops face every day...LEAD us all confidently towards a decisive victory for war-weary American dreamers with untold miles to go before we sleep...convince us, dreams do come true if you just BELIEVE that the CIC has not lost the will to WIN.

Dems have backed themselves into a corner by compromising with the Gang of Fourteen,"centrists"..(yuk) who put "extraordinary" language in the pussyfooters coalition, leaving very few nominees for Dems to whack...three of the most right wing judges were confirmed as per the Compromise in a week after waiting two years and longer for a vote...soooo, will the Republican leadership go nuclear if Dems hold up this historic chance to tip the balance of the Court to the Right for half a century? Sadly..I'm not sure R-leadership has the inclination or the guts to steam roll the obstruction and jump on the opportunity to halt the spread of secularism, return power to the states to determine societal norms as per the will of the people. ONE staunch Conservative originalist like Scalia will do the trick..now is the time...I hope the boys in DC don't bunt..swing for the fences.
UPDATE: Last night at nine o'clock President Bush introduced his nominee for Supreme Court Justice, Judge John Roberts to the American people and the clueless Media that had fallen for the decoy Judge Edith Clements and had been taking her apart all day.
Roberts couldn't be a better choice..he's already been vetted by the FBI and the Hatchet Committee...he's cool underfire and will represent himself well..I'm sure that Chief Justice Rehnquist had more than a little influence on GWs pick..Roberts clerked for Rehnquist and later in his career argued before SCOTUS about 37 times..the Justices on the Court consider it a treat to listen to Robert's well founded arguments.
This is the first nomination in a series that will alter the balance on the Supreme Court for decades; eliminating the trend of legislating from the bench..SCOTUS will no longer fast track amendments to the Constitution, invent NEW rights and dictate social norms by fiat..SCOTUS will return to deciding cases the old fashion way i.e., AMENDMENTS will be approved by 2/3 vote of Congress and 3/4 of the States.
7/31 Hearings on Judge John Roberts will begin on September 6..in the meantime, Dem staffers will be mining 75,000 pages of the Judge's writings. Dems should pick their fights, Roberts will get atleast 70 votes and be confirmed with little ado.

7/31-All four 7/21-dud bombers have been arrested..many Mullahs & Muslims that have been free to preach hate and recruit followers to radical Islam OPENLY and with out legal penalty are facing a radicalized terror task force in London, 35 arrests, over 200 picked up for questioning..London is worse off than the USA..our Muslims are less likely to be radicalized and our police and other security agencies, thanks to the Patriot Act, have infiltrated Mosques and Muslim communities from which actionable intelligence is forthcoming..just recently relatives of Mohammed Atta were apprehended in New Jersey..who knows what atrocity THEY were planning?
Around 9 am on a clear sunny day, 3 bombs went off in the London tubes at rush hour..In the vacinity, a fourth explosion on a double decker bus followed shortly after the underground blasts. In Israel this staggerd detonation tactic kills first responders helping the injured at a previous blast; and in this case, exiles from the subway forced to take a bus.
Already the authorities have determined that 2 of the bombers are home grown..all were living in Britain and left ID evidence on their bodies when they blew up..killing 52+ and injuring over 700 commuters..the Brits took it well..stiff upper lip and all that..this escalation to suicide tactics has forced Brits to rethink their Immigration Policies; get tougher on the quasi-mullahs teaching hate and recruiting young men to kill themselves to kill many others.
This atrocity has had a galvanizing effect on the Brits..they've been far too soft on the radical Muslims living among them. In the name of ethnic hyper-sensitivity, unearned civil rights and stupifying political correctness, Britons legal system allowed quasi-mullahs to indoctrinate home boys for Jihad while preaching death to all non-believers. Kill infidels & Jews where ever you find them. Now they know, and we should learn that Mosques & Charity fronts must be transparent, infiltrated and closely monitored to PRE-EMPT another insideous plot by the enemy within.
UPDATE: Four failed blasts went off today in the London..3 in the Tubes and 1 in a Bus..none of the bombs went off. So far authorities think only the detonators ignited but no explosives blew up..luckily. Ongoing investigation will discover if and what kind of explosives were in the backpacks..the bombers "signature" is a dead give-a-way.
While Tony Blair was meeting with John Howard of Austrailia..the tabloidie London reporters tried to blame Blair's Iraq policy for increasing the risks for Londoners. John Howard stepped up to the plate and reminded the naive reporter that Bali, 9/ll and East Temor were all before Iraq. He defended Blair, Bush and himself...when he put the responsibility for barbaric attacks on civilians, SQUARELY on the TERRORISTS...scolding everyone who blames Countries that refuse to surrender and fight hard for democratic civilizations. Blair chimed in with more of the same..the British Government will crack down on the Muslim population or thousands more Londoners could die.
Top British officials meet today with intel and police(COBRA) to revise the law so that terrorists can be successfully prosecuted for "attempting" to employ terrorism against Britain. I'm sure they'll wind up with something very similar to the wrongly maligned Patriot Act.
UPDATE: Today a suspect in yesterdays attacks was shot and killed by London's terror task force. The Brits are going on the offensive..the civil liberties of murderers regardless of their race & religion are secondary to the lives of innocent Londoners..that reality, is an easier case to make the more Jihadists disrupt the lives & liberty of British citizens.

7/31-Gen. Casey Commander in Iraq said today that IF, IF, IF, conditions dictate we'll draw down troops in the Spring or Summer of 2006. That was supposed to be enough to satisfy the Lefty gang crying for a "time line." We're not going anywhere until the mission (whatever that is) is finished. Iraqis are still dying every day..we can't leave until they can defend themselves, your guess is as good as mine when that will happen.
Democrats and the MSM jump on any hint of bad behavior by our troops..Gitmo and AbuGhraib were tainted with charges of "torture" and insensitivity to the religiousity of the detainees..."flush to judgement" by Newsweek. Senator Durbin(D-Ill) put the icing on the cake, comparing the handling of the Gitmoes by US soldiers, to Nazis, Stalinist Gulags and Pol Pot's genocides..Durbin was called a "disgrace" by democrats at home and the outrageous remark was the last straw for Republicans and Military leaders who complained on the Hill that negative statements from our own government officials bolsters the enemies refrain that NO ONE supports the US invasion, not even our elected representatives or the people of the USA. It's sad that this reprimand had to made at all..Dems haven't a clue when it comes to military matters..Why? Why are they so stupid that they're dangerous?

Imagine the stories reporters and their sources could make up if they were above the Law? A Federal Shield Law is a baaaaaadddd idea.

7/31-All four 7/21-dud bombers have been arrested..many Mullahs & Muslims that have been free to preach hate and recruit followers to radical Islam OPENLY and with out legal penalty are facing a radicalized terror task force in London, 35 arrests, over 200 picked up for questioning..London is worse off than the USA..our Muslims are less likely to be radicalized and our police and other security agencies, thanks to the Patriot Act, have infiltrated Mosques and Muslim communities from which actionable intelligence is forthcoming..just recently relatives of Mohammed Atta were apprehended in New Jersey..who knows what atrocity THEY were planning?
Around 9 am on a clear sunny day, 3 bombs went off in the London tubes at rush hour..In the vacinity, a fourth explosion on a double decker bus followed shortly after the underground blasts. In Israel this staggerd detonation tactic kills first responders helping the injured at a previous blast; and in this case, exiles from the subway forced to take a bus.
Already the authorities have determined that 2 of the bombers are home grown..all were living in Britain and left ID evidence on their bodies when they blew up..killing 52+ and injuring over 700 commuters..the Brits took it well..stiff upper lip and all that..this escalation to suicide tactics has forced Brits to rethink their Immigration Policies; get tougher on the quasi-mullahs teaching hate and recruiting young men to kill themselves to kill many others.
This atrocity has had a galvanizing effect on the Brits..they've been far too soft on the radical Muslims living among them. In the name of ethnic hyper-sensitivity, unearned civil rights and stupifying political correctness, Britons legal system allowed quasi-mullahs to indoctrinate home boys for Jihad while preaching death to all non-believers. Kill infidels & Jews where ever you find them. Now they know, and we should learn that Mosques & Charity fronts must be transparent, infiltrated and closely monitored to PRE-EMPT another insideous plot by the enemy within.
UPDATE: Four failed blasts went off today in the London..3 in the Tubes and 1 in a Bus..none of the bombs went off. So far authorities think only the detonators ignited but no explosives blew up..luckily. Ongoing investigation will discover if and what kind of explosives were in the backpacks..the bombers "signature" is a dead give-a-way.
While Tony Blair was meeting with John Howard of Austrailia..the tabloidie London reporters tried to blame Blair's Iraq policy for increasing the risks for Londoners. John Howard stepped up to the plate and reminded the naive reporter that Bali, 9/ll and East Temor were all before Iraq. He defended Blair, Bush and himself...when he put the responsibility for barbaric attacks on civilians, SQUARELY on the TERRORISTS...scolding everyone who blames Countries that refuse to surrender and fight hard for democratic civilizations. Blair chimed in with more of the same..the British Government will crack down on the Muslim population or thousands more Londoners could die.
Top British officials meet today with intel and police(COBRA) to revise the law so that terrorists can be successfully prosecuted for "attempting" to employ terrorism against Britain. I'm sure they'll wind up with something very similar to the wrongly maligned Patriot Act.
UPDATE: Today a suspect in yesterdays attacks was shot and killed by London's terror task force. The Brits are going on the offensive..the civil liberties of murderers regardless of their race & religion are secondary to the lives of innocent Londoners..that reality, is an easier case to make the more Jihadists disrupt the lives & liberty of British citizens.
In NYC police are searching bags and napsacks on the subways..no, no..they're not profiling..the searches are random..wouldn't want to insult a suicide bomber? What a crock? Atleast it's a deterrant to cells that might be planning to hit a vulnerable target..who knows, a MidEastern young man with wires sticking out of his pants might arouse some suspicion?

7/31-Gen. Casey Commander in Iraq said today that IF, IF, IF, conditions dictate we'll draw down troops in the Spring or Summer of 2006. That was supposed to be enough to satisfy the Lefty gang crying for a "time line." We're not going anywhere until the mission (whatever that is) is finished. Iraqis are still dying every day..we can't leave until they can defend themselves, your guess is as good as mine when that will happen.
Democrats and the MSM jump on any hint of bad behavior by our troops..Gitmo and AbuGhraib were tainted with charges of "torture" and insensitivity to the religiousity of the detainees..."flush to judgement" by Newsweek. Senator Durbin(D-Ill) put the icing on the cake, comparing the handling of the Gitmoes by US soldiers, to Nazis, Stalinist Gulags and Pol Pot's genocides..Durbin was called a "disgrace" by democrats at home and the outrageous remark was the last straw for Republicans and Military leaders who complained on the Hill that negative statements from our own government officials bolsters the enemies refrain that NO ONE supports the US invasion, not even our elected representatives or the people of the USA. It's sad that this reprimand had to made at all..Dems haven't a clue when it comes to military matters..Why? Why are they so stupid that they're dangerous?
Although progress is being made in Iraq, the insurgency blasts away at long suffering Iraqis..everyday innocent civilians and security forces are blown to bits by Jihadis and sunni Saddam loyalists who know that stabilization in Iraq, a Democratic Iraq will ensure their defeat and expulsion from Iraq. Furthermore, a clear victory by the US & Iraqis, will diminish support for their lethal brand of international terrorism among "moderate" Muslims throughout the ME & the World. Ofcourse, until the Muslims strongly oppose murder in the name of Allah, the vicious militants will generate a fearful reaction from dutiful Muslims prone to capitulation.

Two years ago Robert Novak revealed the name of Joe Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame and that she was a CIA agent. Three weeks later, the Dems responded by accusing Karl Rove and the WH of illegally leaking the name of a "covert" agent...Gotcha!! Not exactly...
Slowly but surely the truth is being sorted out..Rove, is off the hook legally..but Dems won't let it go..now they're ranting about "appearances"...the WH "appears to have lied..McClellan said Rove was not involved and he was..the President promised to fire whoever leaked...if they leaked...Bush lied?
Actually Wilson, a Kerry campaign adviser, lied and lied..his report was discredited by the Senate & the House and his contention that his wife did not recommend him to go to Niger was also found to be false. Democrats and the MSM look like idiots..they're the one's that should be concerned about "appearances." Thursday: Reporters and their lawyers met today on the Hill at a hearing in front of the Judiciary Committee to request a Federal Shield Law that will eliminate legal responsibility for reporters and their anonymous sources. Surprisingly most of the committee members on both sides of the aisle found this "get of jail free" Law as foolhardy as I do. Imagine the stories reporters and their sources could make up if they were above the Law? A Federal Shield Law is a baaaaaadddd idea.

Terry Schiavo
This particular euthanasia case has me miffed..the woman is NOT DYING..she has to be starved to death by the State. Why? When her parents and so many others want to keep her alive just the way she is? This isn't like a terminally ill patient in constant pain that chooses to end it all..there is NO living will that indicates her wishes..I repeat my objection..SHE IS NOT DYING..her condition is disputed by the medical profession..her husband has HIS best interests at heart..let her die of natual causes..let God decide when her life is over.
Politically the Democrats looked like cold blooded murderers debating the right to kill Ms.Schiavo..To R-credit, the Republicans in Congress headed by James Sensenbrenner and Rick Santorum in the Senate..devised this Constitutional argument touting the rights of the disabled..compared it to the Civil Rights era when the Feds had to enforce the law on some of the State Courts.
Republicans pulled another fast one..in the middle of night they steam rolled the clueless Dems to save ONE woman's life...Keep your eyes on the sparrow..I'm proud to be a Republican.

Lebanon:WHO DONE IT?
The general consensus seems to be that Syria assassinated pro-western x-premier Rafik al-Hairi in Lebanon; but I say, the timing was inoppertune for two reasons: UN Res 1559, demands the withdrawal of Syria's l5,000 troops from Lebanon (inevitable implementation,France onboard); AND..Syria's efforts to schmooze the USA about harboring Ba'athists (and their money) while supporting the insurgency in Iraq. Sooooo, if Syria is in doubt, what other country stands to benefit from a big media murder spotlite in Lebanon?
Let's think about this..Iran has been manipulating the young Assad since day one..all terrorist organizations have HQs in Damascus..they have free reign and the respect of all those who hate Israeal, the USA and the marginalization of Islam throughout the civilized world. However, a terrorist attack in Lebanon throws immediate & unwanted scrutiny, not only on Syria but also on Iran..the Walmart of Middle East terror shops, so to speak. True, a major assassination diverts attention from Iran's nuclear problems..but they got too much negative press when l50,000 Lebanese mourners flooded the streets and hugged the coffin of their deceased savior, pledging revenge to "whoever" did it..
Getting back to the orginal question...who stands to gain? Today I heard the Syrian Ambassador imply(after a caller outright accused) that Israel would have the most to gain by focusing international attention on the two harshest enemies of the State of Israel..Hmmmm, Hamas already broke the ceasefire, Iranian sponsored Hezbollah lurks on the border of Lebanon with missile sites aimed at the Golan Heights, Israel claims that Iran will go nuclear in 6 months(US intel says 5yrs)..at this time, with fragile hope for peace with Palestine, Sharon relieved of Arafat and "friendly" with Abbas..AND the international community didling with Iran's atomic bomb(while Israel burns?)..I could imagine that Israel might feel the need for speed..it wouldn't be the first time.

Too cynical IMO..Arafat's death changes everything. Abbas is definitely talking out of both sides of his mouth, but he has no choice. Hamas & Iranian sponsored Hezbollah will kill him if gets too chummy with Sharon and doesn't make them promises under the table.
There's a cease fire, Condi Rice is Secy of State, Egypt is involved and has an economic interest in developing Gaza and doing business with Israel, the two men "like" each other. The USA has wisely played it low key, if you call giving 40 Million to Palestine and inviting Abbas and Sharon to DC, low key?
Listen, GW Bush is the most unlikely candidate for the Noble Peace Prize but it could happen. He's got as much chance as Abbas & Sharon of making the tired old Road Map work. Who would've thought that Arafat would die on a gurney in France? Anything can happen..it's a new day in the Middle East..HOPE is alive and well for the first time in decades...the odds are better for Peace than yesterday?
Iran could really throw a monkey wrench into the whole process by encouraging attacks by Hezbollah and Hamas..if they develop a nuclear weapon..all bets are off.

DEAN:GRAVEDIGGER
After winning 48% of the vote on Election Day, the Dem Party is in free fall in the polls. The final nail in the coffin will be driven home when the "Scream" Howard Dean, starts bossing the DNC on February 12th.
In order to sell Dean to normal folks, D-talking heads are trying to pass Howie off as a "moderate."(Check the labelling before you buy that one?) Remember how awful a candidate Dean was? He was too liberal for the democratic primary voters; but NOW pray tell, the cream of the Liberal crop support Dean to be the face, voice and smoothe operator of the whole shebang.
Is this the epitaph for the Democratic Party? Dems are terminally risk averse. Not ONE normal, sensible Democrat dared to stop the wackadoo left wing from driving a stake into the heart of the Democrat Party by infesting it with rich fringy elitist Liberals like Soros, Moore and Pelosi..guess money talks in the Democratic Party these days?
